LAS 100 MEJORES CANCIONES DE LOS '80 DE VH1

La lista que nos dio el empujón final para animarnos a armar este blog, fue el programa del canal de cable VH1: The 100 greatest son of the 80's, cuyo último capítulo se transmitió ayer (aunque en Estados Unidos ya había sido emitido en octubre).

La lista fue armada en base a una votación que hicieron con los televidentes de la versión americana del canal, por lo que la mayoría de gente que la ha visto se ha mostrado en desacuerdo con la seleccion de canciones y con las ubicaciones obtenidas por la mayoría de ellas.

Pero el valor del programa no reside en la lista en sí, sino en que nos ha ofrecido la posibilidad de volver a escuchar canciones después de mucho tiempo, intercalandolas con entrevistas de esos años y entrevistas actuales, y nos dio mucho gusto ver que por ejemplo gente como Mike Reno de Loverboy, REO Speedwagon, A-ha, Pat Benatar y otros, siguen en plena actividad aunque algunos de ellos luzcan mucho más pesaditos y arrugados que en la década maravillosa, muy pocos (como los A-ha), han logrado conservarse casi tual cual eran.

En otros casos hasta nos ha dado pena comprobar que hay gente a la cual ya no volveremos a ver como el austriaco Falco (fallecido en un accidente de tráfico en Santo Domingo), Robert Palmer o el estrafalario Rick James.

Ya iremos comentando en sucesivas entradas, diversos temas y artistas de la lista. Mientras los dejamos con los 100 temas.
